Martin Reiter is an Austrian artist in Tacheles since 10 years. He is at the head of the Tacheles Kunsthaus, for 10 years, as well, and is a strong figure. He defends this free art space very actively.
His past works were political , he has a critical view on this consumer society culture and sees The Tacheles as a open field for expressing another type of art.
His works were machines that destroyed, sort of a metaphore of the car and the car industry, one of the dominering industries today. Because for him, Art is a way to show to the public what is going on in our society today and how we can act upon it.
He is present every day at The Tacheles and you can freely talk further about his projects, just ask for an appointment at the office.
The battle against the investor bank, that wants to take over the Tacheles and destroy it, is a long term challenge, that he bravely pursues, in many a ways, his faith and dedication to the space, may remind you of the"untouchables".
